Shelter Veterinarian
Description
The primary work of this position involves performing spay/neuter surgeries (majority feline) at our clinic for shelter animals and occasional exams and consults, with the hope of expanding to the public in the future to provide low or no cost spay/neuter and other medical services for our community. We focus on spaying and neutering pets from our shelter, as well as other rescues, local municipal shelter, and doing TNR for community cats. The Rogue Valley Humane Society is located in beautiful southern Oregon that is a great area for families, outdoor enthusiasts, and lovers of great food and good beer and wine.
Our spay/neuter clinic can be high stress and very busy at times. There is a potential of hosting vaccine clinics in the future that would involve contact with the public. This position has a set schedule that occasionally includes limited phone availability after hours to consult with staff and phone availability on prearranged weekends when needed. The current daily time commitment on each work day is generally from 9am to 4pm, but this work shift is flexible should you prefer to start earlier or later. This position comes with pre-established medically sound protocols and an experienced support team to allow you to focus primarily on surgery and patient care.
This position is part-time between 20-24 hours per week (2 or 3 weekdays).
